Well I'm a B.Tech I.T Engg student but my father is a farmer and I've been "in the field" till my 10th standard and do keep in touch with his work now too but as we also have a Transport firm so personally see to it more.

with rubber market price upto 139/- per kg nowadays its a profitable job.
BTW Prakash, my dad was workin in Rubber Board,Kothamangalam.

Many families in Kerala rely on farming especially in areas like Wayanad[paddy farm] and lots of people in Pala/Kottayam/Iduky/Kothamangalam etc in Kerala has Rubber Estates.[some Big B kinda farmers]

BTW,here in muvattupuzha the soil is not so good for rubber(latex amount is less),while we have the plantation near thodupuzha.

my great grandpa had some rice land.
when he got old, another farmer was employed with both getting the output.
but those damn communists in kerala t00k away the land.
