Lightbulb Career guidence required.

Hi,

I've just finished 2nd PUC(Class 12),

What are the courses that can be done in the field of software, computers, IT, system administration, animation etc. ?

Please also mention the sort of paycheck I can expect for the courses you suggest.

well , there are many branches in engg to choose from
seeing ur interests , u got 3 - 4 choices if u want to join engg coll. .
(BTW , CET results were out y'day ? wats ur ranking ?)
for u're interests , u'll have to pick from

1. Electronics and communication ( more to do with hardware and electronics ( both analog and digital ) )
2. Computer science ( u learn linux , C , java etc.. )
3. Information science ( minor differences from choice 2 of which i dunno). .

if u want to proceed in animation , u have join private courses which are not as recognised as engg degrees i think. . .like joining animax or arena multimedia ( these are the two which are popular in mysore .. i think arena multimedia shut down ).

i recommend to u take up engineering and get urself a degree and then pursue in watever field u like. .

get a decent rank
Take up CSE/ISE in a decent college.

study average marks... then after BE.....join some s/w service industry... that's game over. you are coder now.

else study excellent... study all subjects properly .. also score good marks...
do M.Tech/MS .. you are now a true programmer.

Coder = Clerk/Something as such. just blindly coding what you are told to do so.

Programmer = Officer/Team Leader/Program designer/Project Manager...

Something like that... etc..

U can take up a job in a call centre. U don't have to take up any special money sucking courses or need to slog anymore in college. The plus points are u will have to work night shifts and it is scientifically proven that man is most active at night. U will most probably get a pay package much higher than most non IT engineers. So there's no need to work your butt for an engineering degree. Also, call centre work life is really cool with a big young crowd, mostly college students. U also won't have to come across dull boring looking managers as most team leaders and team managers were once agents and are pretty young. So u'll have a good time ogling at babes and chicks and partying for the rest of ur life. Most call centres also have a company paid party every fortnight. U'll complain that call centre jobs can be monotonous and drab. But that is true about most jobs. In fact talking on the phone in a professional and confident manner can be one of the the most challenging and difficult tasks. U'll always be appreciated and pampered by the management as u contribute directly to the productivity of the company. So if u decide to put down ur papers one day, the management will get down on their knees to try and beg u to stay. Also promotions and increments happen really fast. U can expect to get a promotion in a year's time, provided u have a decent record. In most other jobs this is most likely a distant dream. Call centres are professionally managed companies with american and european management. So there's no kind of discrimination, favouritism or nepotism. U will always be recognised and appreciated only for ur performance and not bcoz u belong to the son/ daughter of some big honcho in the company. Many ppl feel that call centre jobs have no status, but that's bcoz ppl who say that are completely ignorant of the working environment in a call centre. Call centre jobs are not just about taking calls but have, over the years, diversified a lot. U can expect to take up a career as a trainer, team leader, quality analyst, MIS expert, etc. In due course of time, u can expect to become a team manager or a project manager or a shift to another call centre with a better pay pay package. U can also try applying for jobs overseas for telephonic, marketing and sales jobs as u wud most probably have bcome an expert by now. so my dear friend, if u want a life full of fun, merriment and excitement take up a job in a call centre or slog ur butt for the rest of ur life in dreams of a getting that promotion or raise.
