A breather for Indian Hockey, IHF dissolved

Its finally curtains for Mr. KPS Gill and “his” Indian Hockey Federation. The long due judgment has been done and IHF has been suspended by
Indian Olympic Association under its guidelines. Mr Suresh Kalmadi, head of IOA just announced the decision (that was taken unanimously) in a press conference. The decision brings to an end an era which saw a “dictator” bending hockey to his will and never wanting to step down even after India’s repeated failures in the sport. The stubborn Kanwar Pal Singh Gill’s days are,thankfully, over. The decision is mainly contributed by 3 major developments:
1. India’s failure to even qualify for the Olympics.
2. A sting operation that caught a high level IOA official, Jyothikumaran, taking bribe for “admitting” players in the side which raised concerns even in the Parliament and proved to be the final nail in the coffin.
3. Int’l Hockey Fed.’s warning of not playing World Games if KPS gill was not sacked.
A new temporary committee has been formed in the mean time.
Whatever be it, this is a testing times for the national sport of India.Players will be relieved and we can hope coaches to last longer than 1 year.
Lets hope the sport will rise like a phoenix from the ashes that Mr. KPS gill has taken it to in his ruling of 14 long years.

I used to watch hockey during the time when Dhanraj Pillai, Dilip Turkey, Gagan Ajeet played.
