Who is Byte?

i was checking out this thread when i came across the member called Byte

seeing the name in Green i went to the forum leaders link to take a look

but his/her name is nowhere to be seen here

Byte was Ahmed Sheikh , a senior editor in Digit magazine. I think he's in middle east these days.

but what I realllly wanted to know was why was he not being shown in he Mod list - does the forum CMS not update the list dynamically?
