Internet through GPRS

hi guys, a friend of mine wanted to use her cell phone to connect internet through her computer using GPRS

location is bangalore

pliz tell me in details
1. how much do airtel people charge per kb? (vodafone charge 1paise per kb[HATE vodafone in GPRS])
2. how much is the speed? i mean is it good for downloading?
3. is there any free download time? (if there is data transaction charge)

Airtel has plan for unlimited use . Others would be too expensive
Speed about 120kbps(max with EDGE, GPRS 45kbps)
NO free download time

BSNL also have unlimited scheme, but only in postpaid

^^in northern region bsnl have a topup card by which you can get gprs unlimited for one month. it costs rs 200. thats good to. dont know if it is available in other parts of the country too...and with edge u can get 18kBps average download speed

Just a suggestion--- The airtel mobile internet is tad too slow.It become quite difficult to download files.My friend has expereinced it.The 250 plan of bsnl broadband is better.

Thanx for the prompt reply. Will u pls clarify another doubt? Does the card purchased in one circle work in a different circle. I have two prepaid mobile sims - one in punjab (home) and one in J&K (Work). Will the card purchased in punjab work in J&K? does it also work during roaming??
