Default Damn you Microsoft!

Well, I don't care what anyone else thinks about it, but I think this is utter Monopolistic A$$ behaviour by microsoft.

How many times have you found any manual from any operating system asking you to completely remove one and install the other. I've seen many manuals helping you to run multiple OS parallely.. but check this out:

we have discussed this before.

Quote:
SUMMARY
This article explains how to remove the Linux operating system from your computer and install Windows XP. This article assumes that Linux is already installed on your computer's hard disk, that Linux native and Linux swap partitions are in use (which are incompatible with Windows XP), and that there is no free space left on the hard disk.

NOTE: Windows XP and Linux can coexist on the same computer. For additional information, refer to your Linux documentation.

Back to the top
MORE INFORMATION
To install Windows XP on a computer on which Linux is currently installed (and assuming that you want to remove Linux), you must manually delete the partitions used by the Linux operating system. The Windows-compatible partition can be created automatically during the installation of Windows XP.
This is just a technical document on how to remove one OS.. There is nothing against Linux in that article.

dude, what the **** is wrong with this article ? It just helps them remove Linux and install Windows XP. Don't the reverse articles exist ?
Quote:

IMPORTANT: Before you follow the steps in this article, verify that you have a bootable disk or bootable CD-ROM for the Linux operating system, because these steps completely remove the Linux operating system from your computer. If you intend to restore the Linux operating system at a later date, verify that you also have a functional backup of all the information stored on your computer.
does this ****ing look like evil ?
they are just trying to help people who bought linux computers, for example acer laptops, and chose linux to save money, but have no idea how to use it, and hence want Windows XP.

they are not at all encouraging you to remove linux for installing XP.

@Charan

glad to see you posting

@Cyrus_the_virus

reason for this article was System builders are selling system with Linux this is just to let thoie users which wants the hardware but with MS software !!!

In states or UK, its not like our store, YES SIR We will load windows they have to buy WIndows and when asking a pro they have to pay some heavy charge for obtaining the service to get the windows install

I thought that this thread was closed

Anyway, i don't see anything wrong with it. MS is just providing support to people who want to switch to windows again. I had used this article once long ago when Windows would not boot after formatting the linux partition.

Who is trying to prove what ?? Who created this this thread with words as,

Quote:

When did that link asked you any thing ?? it offered a solution of a question...

Do you think 100% of all buyers buying a PC / Notebook from system builders whcih comes with linux would stuck with it ??

Do u think not even 1 ever asked how to remove the LINUX OS in it to install Microsoft Windows ??

Do you think the question "How did I remove Linux from my PC / Notebook to install Windows?" never came up ??

@cyrus...
It tells how to install windows XP after removing Linux. There may be users who wish to install XP and want to remove linux. This is for them. Microsoft has just provided a article related to its software. What is wrong in that!!!!

Its unfortunate that I usually dont view random new threads and almost never visit the gaming section or related threads

games are there for me to test system performance, thats it

There are a number of manuals which help you in completely removing Windows and install Linux distro or remove any other distro install its distro. By your logic Cyrus, that Linux distro is also being monopolistic.

The thing is criticism becomes bickering unless it is done over a valid point.
