it won't be amplified.electric guitar has solid body so sound does not get amplified thats why we use an amp. now talkin abt guitar--better start with an acoustic one.a yamaha F210 costs around 4.8k and its better than those Aria \ Givson ones in that range.also don't begin yourself with chords and stuff-this is the mistake most people do and never develop speed as a result.

Electric guitar without an amp would sound like a busted acoustic guitar--everything so muted and damped.if u wanna buy an electric one u shud get an amp also.and lets assume u r beginning with no previous knowledge , here's what you should do--
1.Tuning
2.Get familiar with each string, various plucking techniques, fretboard notes--At least 5 th and 6th strings --the fat ones
3.Begin scales-the reason i m sayin this is if you learn scales you can play just about anything and in the long run this only would help you play like santana and not chords.. + its the best thing to practice rather than banging a few random notes\chords.
4.chords
5.building progressions,etc

buy a step up from 2 mm jack to mic jack, and a 2mm jack cable. add the software called Guitar Effects to it, and your accoustic guitar will become an electric guitar(as long as it has pickups, which most do)

^ either the cheap ones come with pick-ups or the real costly ones..and its actually a good idea if brand doesnt matter and u want to move to electric guitar.

As far as I know, Kolkota is India's biggest supplier of musical instruments. And most of the spoof brands, like Fendar, Givson, etc from kolkota are quite decent even in entry-level models. Just try to go for models with the pickup just below the stroking area(forgot the name, sorry), bridging the hole. It gives a good sound. I made a mistake by going for a model which had its pickups just where the strings began.

no no not adding softwares to guitar he's talking about connecting your guitar's out (the ones with pickups have it) to your computer's mic in and using Guitar effects software (i dont know abt that but NI Guitar Rig does similar job)

AFAIK, There's a renowned music skool (forgot its name) near Maulana Azad medical college. A nice electric guitar costs around 5K and the basic amp around 1K. U get an acoustic guitar for 1.5-2.5K.

For full coverage on Guitars, u can visit Daryaganj and u'll see many instrument shops. There's a shop called bhargava. I will recommend that.

Nice Processors don't come cheap. U can check out "revalver". Its an amp modeler/realtime effects software, better than "guitar effects" in IMO. But I'll say forget electric, start with acoustic. There r many friends of mine who started after me buying electric and still trying their best with leads n chords. A few of em gave up n bought bass guitar.

N please, don't start with that song of Karz or churaliya dilko sanam.
