Please Help me a bit with this

I have a disorder.Even my brother has it.Side effect of a drug.My father is careless and due to his carelessness i am diseased.He overdosed me with a drug.For the last two years i told him that i wanted to see a doctor but he didn't pay heed.
Leave that alone...i need some help.
Today i went to a doctor...a neural specialist.
He prescribed me these drugs.
Alprazolam & Fluoxetine tablets AZO-F
Side effects

I searched for them on the net and found that the side-effects of these drugs are similar to the symptoms i have.Does this mean that the doctor prescribed me the wrong drugs.He did the reverse.
Please advise me what to do.

You need some pro-help dude.

If you could specify what disease\disorder you have,it would be more helpful for someone qualified to help you.(i.e. if you are comfortable enough to disclose it)

I am not a doctor or related to medical field in any way except that I was a bio. student till 12th standard.IMHO nobody should take any drug unless absolutely necessary.I have seen a lot of what they call good doctors prescribing heavy general antibiotic drugs for viral fevers and flus when they damn well know that its not gonna help them anyway except of course weakening immune system and chances of resistant bacteria just for the sake of some petty cash they make when the chemist nearby their clinic sells some very over-priced drugs.


what to do:Ask about the drugs(not in this case specifically but every time doctors prescribe you drugs).Ask him to tell you what disease\disorder you have in plain words,he may want you to undergo some expensive tests but I don't think money is an issue with you.This will pin-point the exact problem and prevent you from 'general medication'.And,if possible, always do take a second opinion from some other doctor,and don't ever fugging tell them you have already consulted any doctor before,let them give honest opinion.


edit:I forgot to tell you,there is something called placebo effect which in your case could mean "if you know the side-effects of the drug you are taking then your body tend to 'have' them".Its like giving you a plain sugar tablet and telling you that its a aspirin and your body behaves as if it had just received n aspirin tablet.Can't explain it fully.

Thanks..I am not taking the drugs he prescribed.Since i have already seen that drugs have negative effects on me.The doc who prescribed me with the drugs my father gave me 2 years ago was an a$$.
These are the symptoms I have
confusion, delirium, or hallucinations
irregular heartbeat
muscle tremors
clumsiness or unsteadiness
drowsiness
headache
irritability or restlessness
trembling
trouble in sleeping, with vivid dreams

alprazolam and fluoxetine are mainly anti-depressents and fluoxetine also for obsessive compulsive disorders.but wats ur age?
these ain't recommended if u r below 18 and for the other 2 drugs that u mentioned i gotta check my book.ur doc was in usa?what was it that u were suffering from 2 yrs?

Got it.m surfing on phone right now so can't refresh this page..age would be helpful too.by the way for those symptoms there drugs are absolutely not fine except for those unrestlessness.and these are sedatives too so give u a sleep.still in my opinion consult another doc.the first 2 drugs ain't recommended in early treatment for any age

I am currently 19.When i was given the drug 2 years ago I was 17.

I have the belief that it might be the placebo effect that's still there though i stopped taking that drug.I am pretty sure i was given these same very drugs 2 years ago....i was prescribed today.

Yeah, and he is also complaining of arrhythmia, possibly the dose may need to be titrated.

I have been having these symptoms only after I took the drug 2 years ago.
Ok let me elaborate it a bit.
2 years ago i took a drug the name of which my father forgot.Suddenly after regular dosage of the drug for 2 months(9 weeks) or more months i and my brother had sudden immense attack of muscle tremor.I was give two injections and my brother was given one after which the muscle tremors neutralized.And since then i am having these symptoms.
I also have increased salivation when some of these symptoms prevail.

No i do not have epilepsy.

I stopped taking the drug for two years but i am still experiencing the side effects.The drugs which my doctor prescribed today have the same side effects the symptoms of which i have.

Let me make it clear to all members that the drugs Alprazolam & Fluoxetine CHLORDIAZEPOXIDE AND AMITRIPTYLINE HCL are extremely dangerous and hazardous to mental and physical health if not properly taken.Overdoes will literally kill you if not make you impaired physically and mentally.Its my body...my mind and I'll take better care of myself than the doctor.He just wants to make money.My father is a superstitious person who gave me a drug 2 years ago which was similar to the above mentioned two.He told me he was giving me vitamins and i damn know that even the overdose of vitamins can kill a person because then your body just ceases to produce them naturally.
Under any circumstances i am not taking dangerous drugs....make that to no drug intake forever.

If you do not understand what i mean tune to nat-geo or Discovery.They might just show you how dangerous can an Anti-Depressant be and how many people it has killed.

^ yup right.and u need to consult another doc.i think this doc was a bigger a$$.maybe he thought those 3 symptoms and corelated them with others and prescribed u insanely.
btw if docs are so a$$e$ there consult a doc in india.

just to add that live a natural life, nothings better than be content with what u are gifted with than making it something else which may lead to disasters.

These docs are here for money to settle their life, a very few are really concerned abt their clients.

try ayurvedic meds, atleast the chances of extreme side reactions are lot lesser than.

If you really are suffering from long term desiese you should take it seriously and get help of a better well known doctor...

And as T159 says try harmless alternative therepies like Yoga and Ayurveda... It helps. (Helped me too much.)
