not really a bug.. just include the subfolder...

In the final page after shortening, it is showing http://www.crankup.net/?cool5

instead of http://www.crankup.net/curl/?cool5

btw nice effort mate

and why not like http://www.crankup.net/curl/cool5

i want a shot cut url for my blog http://manishshare.blogspot.com/
i tried your curl but the result is not that much short as i need
suggest some idea...

Hey thanks for your replies...

I am using wordpress for my blog and I have made some changes to index.php of wordpress so http://www.crankup.net/?cool5 should work

Its just an experiment...

if every one likes it I can move it to w new server with very small URl

The primary url will be www.crankup.net... I think u can use curl to shorten your blog's specific post like

http://manishshare.blogspot.com/2008...ting-date.html

I edited the index.php file to redirect but for some reason this does not work

actually I was planning to start a url redirection service... i have a short domain name LLL.in (L - some letter

) and the following scripts interested me and they are popular too:

http://www.urlgap.com $5 script

http://www.hido.net/projects/phurl/ - free script

there are lots of other clone scripts available too but I dunno whether they are reliable or secure
