finally i have a nice PC

i was in lot of pain the last 2 months.
the reason, sudden urge to buy a new graphic card to be able to play some nice games and so that i can work on my pc too(NET and stuff).

i asked my dad he aggred and i sold my old pc, and added some more to get what i have now.

AMD ATHLON X2 4800+
GIGABYTE GA-M57SLI-S4
XFX 8600GT 256MB DDR3
2*1 667 TRANSCEND
liton 20x DVD Writer
550 WATTS ZEBRONICS PLATINUM
i ball keyboard+mouse(looks very cheap)

will test my rig tom
PS: i was low on budget so i could not go for better ram and faster cpu.

yeah, u shud hav gone for 800mhz ram not much difference in price with 667mhz....and x2 4800 is more than enough..no need to go for higher one.

i know but i had already over shot my budget by 1.5k and i had not a single rupee left.
I will finsh my BCA in 6 months, then with my first sal i will treat my self with 800 Mghz and another xfx card.

gud choice of mobo imo. and i read somewhere in case of amd, speeds of ram are not important but latencies are.

u should have got ASUS EN8600GT coz XFX 8600 GT has some heating issues.

i just created a new thread in gamer section, but what the heck.
i have a laptop, and i do not like them so much.

I looked lot of places for ASUS card and very few ppl had it and it was 2.5-3k more than xfx.
but for the next one year if i am able to use this card i will buy a 8800.

Get a good mouse and mouse pad. They make more difference in games that any other hardware.
And which monitor do u have? nd speakers,cabby?
Try UT3, Crysisnd GOW..they are really worth playing.
And can u say if ur card is UDF7 or UDD3? Anyway the overheating become an issue only at extreme ocerclocked condition. Else its as gud as others.

Crysis will stutter in the later lvls. You will have to reduce settings in later levels to counter the fps drop. Its better to skip crysis until your next gfx upgrade.
You don't need to worry about ddr2 800 mhz because the fps increase is insignificant or non-existant in all games.
but why did you buy 550W platinum? You went overboard.
Sound is very important to gaming. Its better to get 5.1 speakers .. atleast creative t6060 or t6100(if available).

i am playing crysis demo. it seems nice, all med and 1024*768.
Ghost recon advanced warfighter 1024*768 all high
cod 4 yet to play.

i will post the price once i get the bill(i missed placed it some where on my table)

UDF7 nd UDD3 are the ordering code and will be on the box. Chech the box. Its better if u have UDD3, which is the newer nd improved one.
U can do vhigh on COD4. Is it GRAW 1 or GRAW2? Im a big fan of GRAW series.

the one i have is graw2 its really nice.
and nothing like that is on the box.
will i get this info with some software?
