yep,according to TRAI regulations service providers have to respect user's privacy.I have a vodafone connection and I had to just send an sms DND to 111.(DBD=do not disturb).Call 'em and ask what you have to do.

I think most mobile phone service provider give that option in their website. I mean 'do not disturb' option.

I have done that (mine is Airtel) through sms as well as through site, now it is almost zero. I mean offer messages etc.

Even after registering, these ***** promoters haven't stopped bugging. Threatening them that I'll lodge a complaint against them hasn't yielded any results either. Is there a DND option for BSNL landlines as well?

For Reliance this is the link

http://www.rcom.co.in/webapp/Communi...m/rm_index.jsp

From the same page

However, if you do not wish to be informed about these benefits through telephone calls or by SMS and want to register in the NDNC registry (National Do Not Call Registry) please fill the form given below or SMS "DNC ACT" to 53733.

@phreak0ut

Thing is, they get like 45 days or more, so do not expect a sudden action. In my case, I think it worked.
