Hello plz visit my blog at www.techani.com first. I have a few questions to ask. Without ur help i will not be able to get it up there to my satisfaction. I have very less knowledge to nil . I am ready to post an article about his blog in mine once someone helps to the full. I will do this coz I cant find a better way to appreciate his help. I sincerely hope someone will come forward to help me out. My first set of questions are-

1) How can i change the header name or link.
2) How can i change Contact Us to Contact Me and About Us to About Me?
3) How can i remove the `Download` page?
4) How can i add link to the Contact Me, About Me, Gallary pages?
5) How can i add google adsense to my site?

Buddies without ur help i will not be able to satisfy me. So plz come forward and help me. Waiting for ur helping hands.

Yes its a free one! I got it from Themes.wordpress.net. Its on the 4 or 5th page i think, when u browse all the themes.

The name can be changed under "Options" in the WP-Admin page. Its what you name your blog.
The link can be changed in the header.php file of your theme.

The navbar links seem to be built with the theme. YOu'll have to edit the header.php file again.

WP-Admin >> Write >> Write pages

You'll have to insert the code into the template's php file present under wp-content/modern-green-blue/filename.php
For example, if you want the code in the sidebar, edit sidebar.php
Or simply, get plugins which do this work for you.

DarkLord many thanks to u for this help. But...
for 2,3) When i am opening the header.php i am getting this msg `If this file were writable you could edit it.` below it. Also i dont see any option to save it.
For 4) I dont see any linking option there. Do i need to link it from the header.php file?

Hi Anindya,

For 2,3 , you'll have to first make the file permissions writable. I'd rather suggest you edit them via FTP ( Use PSPad )

For 4, pages are automatically linked depending on the title you give them. For example, if you create a page called "About Me", a link to that page is create as domain.com/about-me/ by default
However, this can be changed under the Page Slug option at the right hand side of the "Write Page" page.

Wow thank u soooo much. For 2,3 i can then edit the page on my pc and then upload it right? But i would like more suggestions from u on improving more. Can u suggest on ur own plz? Thanks buddy once again

Yes, you _can_ download the page, edit it and re-upload.
But most FTP clients now a days are bundled with editors, which essentially do this without any manual intervention. You just access the file via FTP, right-click, edit and save. Simple.

Um, your permalinks are falling apart? In the same page where you set the permalinks, look below for a text block containing the required stuff for .htaccess. Create a local file named htaccess and paste it in it, upload via FTP and rename to .htaccess. That should fix it.

Thanks u r right! Should i download the original file and then add this text? Coz that origianl file may conatin some other codes. If so then in which folder should i look for? Or else in which folder should i put the file?

I am also not being able to import my blog from blogger.com I am getting this error msg...

Also, the .htaccess file should be in the root. i.e in "public_html"

^^ I cant see any blogspot post link. First they r asking for the permission then after granting it i am shown this error page. And what about this question of mine.

I just said could we view the blog from where you are trying to import. You have to provide the link

And yes, its always better to backup files before editing. Download the original and edit the code.

You have only 1 post in blogger...so just write is as a new post in Wordpress and change its time via post panel. Its easier than importing.

And use Notepad to edit the file. No need for special editors.

How can i unpack a zip file mainly plugin in server? I have seen in a blog related thread here that unpacking can be done in the server.
