How true is this?

Ever wondered who is the " adhinayak" and "bharat bhagya vidhata",
whose praise we are singing? I thought might be Motherland India ! Our
current National Anthem " Jana Gana Mana" is sung throughout the
country.

Did you know the following about our national anthem, I didn't.

To begin with, India 's national anthem, Jana Gana Mana Adhinayaka,
was written by Rabindranath Tagore in honour of King George V and the
Queen of England when they visited India in 1919.

To honour their visit Pandit Motilal Nehru had the five stanzas
included , which are in praise of the King and Queen.(And most of us
thinkIt is in the praise of our great motherland!!!)

In the original Bengali verses only those provinces that were under British rule, i.e . Punjab, Sindh, Gujarat , Maratha etc.were
mentioned. None of the princely states were recognized which are integral parts of India now Kashmir, Rajasthan , Andhra, Mysore or Kerala.

Neither the Indian Ocean nor the Arabian Sea was included, since they
were directly under Portuguese rule at that time.

The Jana Gana Mana Adhinayaka implies that King George V is the lord of the masses and Bharata Bhagya Vidhata is "the bestower of good fortune".
Following is a translation of the five stanzas that glorify the King:

First stanza: (Indian) People wake up remembering your good name and
ask for your blessings and they sing your glories.

(Tava shubha name jaage tava shubha aashish maage, gaaye tava jaya gaatha)

Second stanza :Around your throne people of all religions come and
give their love and anxiously wait to hear your kind words.

Third stanza: Praise to the King for being the charioteer, for leading
the ancient travelers beyond misery.

Fourth stanza frowned in the deep ignorance and suffering,
poverty-stricken, unconscious country? Waiting for the wink of your
eye and your mother's (the Queen's) true protection.

Fifth stanza : In your compassionate plans, the sleeping Bharat (
India ) will wake up. We bow down to your feet O' Queen, and glory to
Rajeshwara the King). This whole poem does not indicate any love for the Motherland but depicts a bleak picture. When you sing Jana Gana Mana Adhinayaka, whom are you glorifying? Certainly not the Motherland.

Is it God? The poem does not indicate that.It is time now to
understand the original purpose and the implication of this, rather
than blindly sing as has been done the
past Sixty years.

Nehru chose the present national anthem as opposed to Vande Mataram because he thought that it would be easier for the band to play!!!

Not to fall prey of RSS propaganda. They have nothing constructive to do, except creating controversies. BTW, I am hearing abt this controversie since last 20 years, and already there was a thread abt same thing in digit.

Where the *#$% did RSS come into picture? I searched the source mentioned in the first post and was not able to find the mention of RSS in the source posting. I means seriously dude, how much do you know about RSS except what you have seen in the private news channels?

I do not need to answer your questions, because I know all these things you are asking. I know 100s of RSS wings and their full form.

I was active member of RSS and post holder for many years, attended 10s of camps of RSS, and was part of many meetings of RSS in district and state level.

Asking full uniform of RSS, I weared it many times. And I know true picture of RSS more than what you know.

What I am saying about RSS, because I know it. I first visited RSS shakha when I was 5 year old.

Kewl, assuming now that you are a rather knowledgeable person, I would really want to know why you do not grace me with the answers of the questions about RSS. OK let us just abandon the third question answer the first two.

More than that can you present one single irrefutable proof which says that this claim is made by RSS. Any scan of the printed paper where they claim this, any link on the RSS website with such a page. Considering that you have been with the RSS for so long, I think it would be a child's play for you to bring a single irrefutable proof.

What I want to know is if, when and how did RSS claim such a thing?

My first post in RSS was Mukhya Shikshak. (If you have some connection with RSS, you must be aware of this post and their importance)

That thing (National anthem )is surely RSS, I do not have time to collect proof. I am 101% sure. If any one don't want to believe I have no interest to make them believe.

While I agree that you have the appropriate knowledge and accept that you do did not goofle it (I take your word for it), I also see one more thing, the effect of what we in journalism call, The Hypodermic Syringe Theory.


It says that the audience is passive and accepts what the media says so if we tell a lie 100 times they would believe it is true.


You are saying it because you think that you are 101% sure that it is RSS but man, the fact is that you can not just go out blaming someone unless you have any irrefutable proof. If people start to believe and prosecute just becoz someone is 101% sure, we would be prosecuting almost every second person.

Please do not be blame anyone unless you have solid, irrefutable proof.

The fact of the matter is that while Indian media in general and English media in particular try to print an image of RSS as devil incarnate, the truth is that not even a single time has any court of law held RSS at fault. Twice or thrice it was banned but every time courts lifted the ban.

I am not saying that every one in RSS is pure but the fact of the matter is that just because some people are bad, we can not say that entire organization is bad.

While I am going off topic here, I am going to take that risk here. The efact of the matter is that Indian media and RSS have always been at odds because RSS is the only organization which has enough numbers that it can lauch such a public communication camapign that the entire depedence of people on media would be nullified. The media is against RSS becuase of the fact that RSS has enogh numbers that it can put entire India media out of business just by launching a word of mouth communication campaign.

I do not see RSS from english media angle, I see it from my 14 active years of participation in RSS activites.

RSS has very strong hidden agenda, which everyone knows and their views about Mahatma Gandhi, Nehru, Indian tricolour is not unknown to anyone.

Regarding numbers, how many active shakha of RSS runs at your area and how many people per day come in Shakha of RSS?
