B-fone Dead Broadband Working!

today guys i had been there online and suddenlly my BB disconnected..i did checked the phone line and found its dead there...my speaker power and modem adapter is having same extenstion switch..while i did on it and found i got connected.. but my phone is still dead. how its possible guys..? i am sure there is nothing wroung in my instrument. i did checked it!

I am not a techie but I can think of this in such situation.

The broadband cable which comes to your home may contain two sets of cable. One of the set is for telephone and the other for broadband connection.

Though these two sets of cables run together, in the telephone exchange they may actaullt be connected to different terminals.

So there could be a problem from the exchange terminal in telephone set. Broadband terminal may be functioning properly.

IMO.

and yes, I have never worked with a router as well. So all the above post is just a logical guess.

i have dataone broadband connection..its not 2 pairs.. its single twisted pair..
watt u talking about is dedicated DSL ..adsl just run on single twisted pair..by creating diffrent frequency bands! 0-5khz for voice and remeing 5-30 khz for upstream and downstream data flow..using a multiplexer placed at respective exchange.

it happens with me as well, my phones goes dead but bb is working.
just complaint to bsnl on 2xxx198 & it will be fixed with 24hrs

BB is on a different frequency & phone on another. And BB & phone are handled by diff. centres.

the phone is not working means in exchange something to fix with ur phone connxn.i have experianced this think and the line man just phoned to exchange reg some "fuse?" thing and all of a sudden phone line is working.remember BB was already there.
