Harry doesnt live in privet drive!

^^ Ofcourse he doesn't. But he's not in Hogwarts either. He's a grown up man now with a wife and three kids and has his own house somewhere.

i felt 7th book the worst book.only last chapters were good. Jo has lost her writin style completely. she had killed many unnecessarily. i like 4th book the most. it was mind blowin coz of its writin style. of course 7th story was best but Jo was unable to present like she used to be.

sahi me bolun to 7th book se pehele i was a die hard fan.even more than any of my friends thought i was the last among them to read it. but after 7th books tha t madness has gone completely

If there was no slughorn, harry would not have been able to know about Horcrux.
Harry would have learnt patronous from any other D.A.D.A. teacher except snape and umbridge.

Snape also has helped harry a lot.He helped to destroy a horcrux.

I am again reading the books..currently reading 2nd book...earlier books were simple and story was gud.......I like Prisoner of Azkaban movie n book much ..

now with JKR announcing D'dore is gay..WTF.....what values ...she is fusing in minds HP fans particularly childern ..very very cheap stunt by JKR

Exactly my feelings. The first half of the 7th book was unbearable. Too slow and boring, as if JKR was dragging on and on just to increase the length of the story. The ending was somewhat more interesting but i found the snape's revelation to be distasteful. Made him more of a hero than harry's parents inspite of his dark character.

The 4th book was the best. Right combination of light and dark moments.

Slughorn didn't helped harry intentionally and was only due to he was drunk and harry had felix felicis.
Lupin's help is more crucial as he is more closer to harry than any other teacher would have been. Snape never seems to get rid of his grudge rather than directly help harry. Moreover he was working on dumbledore's instructions rather than his own will.

Yes i agree. Completely uncalled for. Even if the 7th book has lots of grown up characters,this is fiction primarily read by children. No need to add useless background info.

I do think the announcement on "D'dre" being GAY was quite a shock... he he he puts a whole new meaning to some of the earlier passages.

But I don't think it has to do with any so called "Cheap Stunts"... or "Trying to put STUFFS into children's head"

With all the media making "homosexuality" = Fun object ... at least JKR is infusing rather enforcing the idea that a person's gayness... is not something of which they should be ashamed."

By dubbing someone so respected, so talented and so kind as someone who just happens to be also homosexual... JKR is telling the future generation (kids).... "Being DIFFERENT is OK"

She's NOT saying "BE or Become Different (as in Homosexual)"

how come there's no spell to change the person's sexual attitude....when there's spell to kill a person...like HOMOSEXUALITY REMOVIA...or HETROSEXUALITY INSERTIA. the best would've been to put ownself into IMRERIUS CURSE and have normal sex them come back

Which would sbsequently land you in Azkaban, since performing unforgiveable curse on oneself is not allowed either. That is if you are able to remove the curse after you are done with the reason you used it for.

A few questions
What did Dumbledore write to the Dursleys make them take Harry?
why didnt basilisk attack on harry not destroy the horcrux in Chamber Of Secrets?

1. Dumbledore had told them to accept Harry as they were his only living relative. He also told them that by accepting Harry, they'll activate a spell which will protect Harry from Voldemort till he's seventeen or calls that place his home.

2. Thats not how it works. Dumbledore did explain to Snape that the fragment of Voldemort's soul inside Harry can only be destroyed by Harry's death. The basilisk never killed Harry. Thats why the horcrux was not destroyed.
