Hey, abhi. Thats realy hard to do. Going without tv is possible only if u unsubscribe to cable tv. u will feel the urge to go watch it when thers nothin to do.
rite now im not goin to try it, as the us open is goin on.......

I rarely watch TV, the only channels that i see is VH1, History Channel(only War at 8) or discovery.
And that too when i am totally bored of the net.
And when my exams were near the last semester i did not even look at the Tv, if i had to pass in front of TV i would close my eyes, i limited the use of computer too, i would lisiten to only songs and nothing else, not even the net or
games which i am additected too. I did that for almost 45 days, not once looking at the TV not once.

We need to do somethings like this to see if we still have control of oneself.
