Should I go back or not??
This might be the biggest mistake I have ever made till now. Chose boarding. Currently I m in MIT Gurukul, Pune doing IB board. Previously I was in Gujarat Board. There toh jst read and vomit. In Ib u need to understand everything and if u fail to understand u r dead then. Now the thing is I m not able to set in boarding school and ib is really really hard. I was literally crying in the class. I m very quite guy so I don't ask much in class. I mean all other guys know basics as they were in igcse board. I haven't even seen those kinda sums.
Now the thing is I m not at all happy here. I m missing home badly, boarding is too strict, no tutions, no good teachers.. While in my home town I m getting admission in Navrachna International School. There the campus is not as good as this but its in my own city. My home, parents, frnds and my pc. I m a guy who can't do things without tution. I m bad at self studies. I m getting admission in NIS.
So jst taking suggestions: Shld I go back oir stay here and try to do self study and all. I know many guys would say that its ur life do what u want. I jst want to know ur opinions.

Even I wanna go back. But some ppl are like that stay in boarding and become strong. Learn to adjust and all. But I feel very lonely here even when with frnds.

Re: Should I go back or not??
Actually my problem is I m very shy and take hell lot a time to adjust with new things. I love my things very much and never want them to be away frm me. I used to cry when my mom used to give away my old clothes. And the study thats the other problem. Self study - me bad at it. In my city I will go tutions. What would u choose:
1st palce: Gr8 campus, strict boarding, no home, no parents, less frnds, bad food and no tutions
2nd place: Not as gr8 as first, no boarding, home wit parents and frnds, awesome food with tutions.

Re: Should I go back or not??
i would say instead of asking members here...go home for few days...talk over matter with ur parents, bro's sis's.....and then arrive on concrete decision..and then u cannot revert back.....do not just think abt now...think ahead....where u will be after completing ur education in respective places....what u stand to loose and gian in longer run......and staying away or together is all abt HABIT.....which can be incorporated with time....

Re: Should I go back or not??
^^
I wanna do animation so might go out of INdia. Not sure though. Ib is stupid board. For commerce students they need to select one science and thats compulsory and same for arts student.
@wizrulz - Go home for some days and think. Nah can't do that na. Thats the prob you can't miss a single lecture in IB coz there is nothing like learning in IB. You need to understand every damn thing.
@iMav - Yea for campus and also many others things they promised at the time of admission that outing everyweek, new movies and malls and stuff. But now they say we will take when we feel. Last sunday they said they will take us out and when time came they said no.
I m not caring abt ppl but still thoad feel hoga when they would say he ran away coz he couldn't stay and all that. Mostly I m going home.
I m literally hating myself for this decision. Only getting 60% fees and security deposit back. Darn it.

think urself wat is best for ur future, yes u wil feel lonely when ur alone in new place, overcome ur shy nature and talk to people , ur feeling insecure without ur parents around u, this has to happen when first time away from parents. be independent, ur parents wont b their for u every time.

Re: Should I go back or not??
buddy according to me if u r feeling lonely or scared or uncertain about ur hostel life then be cool. I dont know for how many months u r there but just try to be relaxed and normal.IF u keep thinking that u r alone here and there`s no backup for u then u wont be able to do anything. Believe me once u settle down u wont find a better place than hostel, provided most of the boys r decent. If u think that the subjects r too tough for u to handle then talk u ur parents and take decision. I am sure thsy wont be rude to u and would understand ur problem. Atleast u understand that its tough for u to handle so its better for u get out of it instead of spoiling ur results. Make ur parents see that point if they r rude. I was in hostel for 6 yrs. class 5-10. Even i was(and even now) a very shy guy. But i miss all those yrs everytime. But dont mind i didnt get that IB whats the full name?

Re: Should I go back or not??
Shame on all you fellows telling him to go back! Chirag, mate, I know exactly how you feel because I felt something VERY similar when I went abroad to study for the first time. Thing is, I come from a joint family, and I was always used to having my folks and friends around me all the time.
When I went to Australia to study, I was 17 years old! I wasn't even 18, so I had to get a release form signed by my mom and present that at the immigration counter at the Sydney airport along with my VISA! And man, I had never even made Maggi once also when I went there. It was horrible!! I was doing a Bachelor in Horticulture (that is the field of our family business you see...) and some of the subjects were really weird for me!!!
There was one called Plants in Society which was very weird...it was all just crazy hard assignments...like one was...go make a half hour movie about the role of Gardens in modern society. You can imagine how I would have felt. I didn't even do Biology in my 12th man!! And there I was in Sydney for all of 1 week, having to make these kind of assignments.
And I won't lie mate, I cried a LOT too. But here's the thing. I realised there were two things I could do. One, suck it up, be a man and take this as an opportunity to learn. Two, be a lil ***** and run back to India with my tail between my legs. But if I did that, I'd have to explain to my family and friends why I came back, and why I couldnt stay there.
I made a LOT of effort to get out of my comfort zone, meet people, make friends and be more proactive. After all that also, I remained quite shy and never really got around to making a lot of friends in Australia. But I definitely started to pick up my studies. Soon, I was belting all my classmates academically, because I was from Indian +2 system...and our stuff is WAY harder than the aussie stuff.
Long story short...I suffered a lot for all of my first year while I was there. But I didn't come running back home, I decided to stick it out and I am a better & stronger person today for it. Because I identify so strongly with how you are feeling, I am telling you also to do the same thing. Trust me, things will not be so bad as they appear.
You say you are shy?? Then come ON man, snap out of it! Get out there, start talking to people, start being AWESOME!!! It sounds a lot harder than it really is dude!! And let me ask you this...if you go home, what face will you show your parents?? And can you look yourself in the mirror?? If you are not able to cope with something on this level only, later in life, what will you do?? You will have to face a LOT worse things dude.
Let me be frank with you...when I was 15, my dad passed away. And that was a pretty rough time for me...I ended up failing my 11th finals...overall 32 % ... not proud of it either. Why am I telling you this?? Just to let you know that life is fscked and it gives you way more **** than this. Just buck up and deal with it bro. Trust me...
If you need to talk or anything, feel free to pm me or add me on yahoo or somethin man!! Peace out...

Re: Should I go back or not??
Well, let me tell you my story. I was in 5th grade and my parents
told me to go to the hostel, I went there and it was not a common
hostel, that was Gurukul, as you all guys know, gurukul is one of
the toughest institute. Man, those were the toughest days of my life,
we had to woke up at 5am every morning, every week you have to eat
same food, we were not allowed to go out anywhere, at that age a kid need freedom, home food, Mom and many things but man we dint had anything,
Just imagine you self in my position, That is the age when you need your parents most, because in that age you even don't know how to wash your clothes, but we did that. and since than i'am living in hostel and at the moment too am living in hostel. I had have never lived with my parents more than a month or two months maximum.
I have been through a lot and i know i had to face all of them. But guys, Now whenever i see my friends who complaint to their mom that they don't like this sabji, i really thank to my parents that they did the right things. and now able to face most of the problem without telling them.
This is a life ,Where you have to be tough to become a tough man.
( And there were many boys in Gurukul with me, who were just in 1st grade )

STAY IN PUNE ..for the life of it.
Initially even when i came there for my education is was totally devastated. The first impression was,"Which part of hell is this ".Feeling lonely was the last of my problems which pretty much sums it up.
You know what !I didint duck in. Just give it a time.
As the time went i started to pick up friends. I felt in love with Pune, its life and culture.
Hell i came to know, how lucky i was to end up in this city. Its the city of dreams and fun.You just have to let wane the initial few months.
You couldn't have chosen a better city for the education and with the new face of city, i will just suggest give it some time and reap the fruits later.
Happy Stay and dont cave it .You will appreciate this suggestion later.

Re: Should I go back or not??
Even I wanna stay but I don't know how I will study. In IB teachers don't teach anything. They will jst guide u and won't help much. I have taken phy, maths and itgs at higher level. ITGS is fine, I can manage it but for maths and phy I need tutions and teachers doin't teach that well. Its like I want myself to stay away from home and be strong with I donno if I would even pass. While in my home town I will go to tutions and all so maybe little chance of passing. I m so confused. Hating myself right now. Lot of money gonna be waste darn it.

Re: Should I go back or not??
@Chirag: If it was easy, would it be worth doing it?? An International Baccalaureate is better than doing Gujarat state syllabus, and you learn a lot more. Think of it as an investment. And at the risk of pissing you off, let me tell you for your own good...STOP BEING SUCH A LITTLE B!TCH!! MAN UP AND ACT LIKE YOU'VE GOT A PAIR DUDE! You're what, 16 now?? If you give up now, you will never be able to do anything in life.

Re: Should I go back or not??
I advise you that u can't go back your home, you have to prove yourself & show your abilities & If you want a great future for u then you have to struggling towards whichever is the board,
You must have to self studying,in starting you have some but later u understand easily, you have to meets with other students & join them that makes you happy.
