bad luck, i had one professor in my college who used to beat the students. and it wasnt like 'ek kan pe diya aur chod diya'. if he started hitting once he wouldnt stop for atleast 5-10 mins. 3 guys in my class last year got this special honour

Actually the parents of two of those guys didnt mind the professor teaching them some lessons. While the professor went and apologised (secretly) to the third one's parents.

we too hav one lecturer who keep hitting student in class, but ones when he is out of college, he gets those hittings lessons back.

and we hav planned to hit 2 lecturer's but they already ran away from coll.

the new guidelines will enable students to misuse the law to settle scores with their least favorite teachers. Anybody wants to explain how will a teacher now ensure discipline in a class? No way left now.

I'll tell you one more fact, my junior college had a tie-up with the DELHI based FIITJEE, and this maths professor (also from FIITJEE, now probably in HYDERABAD) boasted about the strict discipline/rules in South Delhi FIITJEE classrooms. So decide for yourself if DELHI is indeed that cool and rocking.

Unity is POWER.

(Last year a student slapped our college principal. He was sacked but from then on our principal never takes any kind of 'panga' with us.

i am doing my BCA in bangalore a college which has more forign students then indian, cause the trustee is from IRAQ.
the point here is that when the teachers shout at us for not doing what they ask us to do(assignment) or get up and wish him or her.

for this all my friends none are from india(Iran, Germany, Vietnam, etc) they tell me that in their country the teachers do not have the right to shout too forget slaps and punishment for which he will be taken out of the job and in some cases jailed.

here in india we are programmed to give respect to them and not get any, if some teachers hits you, you can not do anything cause he is "elder to you"
i agree to some extent that they are our teachers and know a little more than what we know in some fields, but does that mean they go hitting us.
parents hitting or slapping or punishing is to some extent ok but if the child is in college, that is bad very bad and unacceptable.

Here our ex director of college threatened a student to spoil a career after refusing to admit for wrongly marking student as absent in final term paper. Student got so depressed and committed suicide. The responsible teacher and director fled and were never arrested. Imagine the worst.
