Whats on your mind ???

Everyday we think of many NEW ideas, some weird, some impossible, but some thought provoking. Most of these ideas we dont even give a second thought, but some of them are excellent.

These ideas may be anything, ie related to technology, culture, politics, etc.
So if you have any ideas of your own post them here.

1. Today while travelling by local train, i was wondering why UP and DOWN trains are on alternate tracks? Point is, if all trains in one direction are grouped together wouldnt it be easier when a train wants to change tracks?


2. A friend today told me that due to a single project of reclaimation in Worli(Mumbai), the sea level there had risen by several METERS!!! He then went on to say that due to the excessive land reclaimation in Dubai, the water level would increase in the Middle East and its full effect would come on to India. ie, didnt he know that sea level rises throughout the world, not just at one place??
Conclusion: some of my friends leave their brains at home.

Sometimes when I see and experience some event , I feel like I knew it before as if I have gone through it before . Like recently I gave a viva and while(and after) giving that viva I felt like I have seen that external before asking the same questions and me giving the same replies.One more , Once I went to a marriage party to a place in village where I have never been before and I felt like I have seen all those people before and I have been to this marriage before. Thats a really weird feeling and I just cannot make sense out of it.

^^yeah , But the good thing is such things happen rarely now . I use to experince such things almost once every 1-2 months when I was a kid but ,now a days, its like once in a year or two.

^^ yea Once i read abt this,and it is said tat large no of people experince this kind of things which is due to mind re registernig the situtation...something like that .

And abt the universe may be we are palying a futuristic game called life..were the players are not aware of the siutation outside the nutshell..like the tommy vercetti in Gta VC ,who knows.Scientist are already trying to create a virtual world with AI characters in it,but perfect AI like humans is still a long way..

But the strangest thing ever happened to me was a concidence.When i was much younger below 10 yrs i always thought (started wen watching a leafs movement in air)abt small things having a larger effect.
This idea was always ter in mind, and i always looks things on the basis of that(wen i hear abt bus accients in paper). I only came to realize(wen in 12th) that wt i hav been thinking was already ter in the form of a theory known as "Butter Fly Effect", was a Big surprise to me.
I know no one will believe me,But it is true atleast in front of me.

yeah, isnt it called as DEJA VU ??? and i also think that in my childhood it was more prevalent than now, like Phenom says. maybe children have more powerful minds? OR as we grow up we are too caught up with survival to think about anything else.

ALTERNATIVE THEORY: we live in a simulation, and its just that we are seeing the BUFFER data in the RAM of whatever is running the sim. thus we see the same thing TWICE.

A couple of theories....

1). What if we somehow manage to convert energy into matter? As per Einstein's law, E = MC*C, energy can be converted into matter.

What if we just convert mass into energy, say light, project it from one place to other using Fiber Optic cables and then convert the energy back into a mass.

My friend got excited with this and sent a letter to National Physics Lab (email) and they replied with a detailed explanation of 'wormholes' in space.

Wonder what it can do, if it ever gets real.....

@aditya - mass convertion into energy occurs only at very high temps, something like 10^6 or 10^7, which is impossible to sustain on earth.

one way is by shooting laser beams from all sides onto some mass, to heat it. (EDIT: remember spiderman 2 ?) but apparently the electricity needed to operate the lasers is much more than the current installed capacity of the earth. but it has been sustained for a few micro seconds.

BTW wats the 2nd theory?

EDIT: on second thoughts, for transporting a living thing, it will require killing of the animal/human. so in that case we must first be able to awaken dead people.

Actually i started imagine the same scenario after that movie..its was pretty scary....

@pannaguma :- Yup its perfectly normal.. and its called Deja Vu only..!! there are many types of it...checkout on wikipedia...btw there was this new theory in papers couple of days before... Scientists unraveled the mystery of causing Deja Vu...i didnt read the whole article..its was like some of our brain mapping overlapping some other subconscious mappings...

or something like that...ill have to search for it online..i lost that paper

Exactly same here man.. I feel something strange that this situation has happened to me once..But hey.. Those situations come in my dreams sometimes..
Many times I've felt it.. 2 months ago I went to goa and I stayed in a beach resort. I felt that I dreamt of this beach resort/place many months ago. But at that time it was just a dream because I had no idea then that I'll go to goa or any place like that one day...
I hesitated to share as someone may say its a cooked up story but now that I know something like this happens to someone other than me... I told mine too..

Also yesterday I watched a movie called Click and was imagining that what if we had a remote to control our life.. A good concept is given in the movie..

Yes Deja vu is very common to me also, but I didn't know it's called Deja vu and psychological researches are going on this subject. According to Wikipedia 70% people of the world have experienced this phenomenon atleast once. For more information on this read on -

ya that made the difference. first time i told my friends (in around 6th grade) a couple of them agreed that they too experienced it. So since then i know that Deja Vu is normal. and it didnt stop me from mentioning it to others.
