Default How About A Digit Blu Ray Edition?

Long back digit started with a CD and then its not 2 DL DVDs equal to 15 GB. Blu Ray Drives have become cheaper and the discs are also now cheaper. A blank one now costs around Rs.175/- so when you replicate the same it would cost much less....so why not a BD Edition?

Please share your thoughts...

it would be a waste. not even 1% of readers own BDROM or BD-W. why to spend more 100 than bucks when they get DVD for less than 10 bucks if I am right.

I say do away with CDs and DVDs, and offer CD/DVD free edition in the stands.

It is not popular as compared to DVD but would be in the next few months because all companies are bringing out movies on BD

We all might have thought of the same thing when Digit or any other magazine gave the first DVD or when we were requesting to get a DVD, this was back in 2003 (7-8 years back) but now we all have DVD writers (most of us).

Digit has started giving a free dvd with each issue and brought out a scheme to upgrade to a DVD-ROM or DVD Writer. They can do the same again, its worth it.

I am sure that most of the people are finding it difficult to keep their cd and dvds due to lac of space

This could be a separate edition altogether and people can buy or subscribe to it at a different price but the other issues and pricing could remain the same

@rajivnedugandi when digit started providing DVDs, price of DVD-R was not more than 50 bucks if I am right and even then there were many who already upgraded to DVD drives. Every new laptop or desktop (branded) used to come with a DVD drive. And if I remember, a branded 100 DVD-R spindle used to cost around 3k at that time. That's 30 bucks per piece and Digit may have got each DVD-R at 20 bucks (maybe). compare that to paying 100 rupees atleast for each Bluray and for what? 1% of community?

Maybe, Mid 2011 would be a better time to start with bluray media.

Yes, around mid 2011 or by the end of 2011 could be fine
