how abt getting a digital camera (DSLR cameras would be a great but expensive)
psp is available in India for dirt cheap prices anyway
xbox 360 and ps 3 would be great only if u have other sources for getting game discs later

if macbook is out of ur list try to get a laptop with good config....
and yeah consider abt the customs duty and taxes before getting ur stuff to india

i don't think htc has a resale market here in india....
