Book or Movies?
Well I'll say in both, Comparing Lord of the Rings to Harry Potter is a joke. LOTR pwns Harry Potter big time.
Each of the parts of LOTR was epic and the ending was superb (in the book, movie messed up the finale somewhat). In Harry Potter, only first 4 books were good, the 5th, and 6th were real letdown and the final book was good somewhat but the finale was like meh.

I read 6 of the 7 Harry Potter books (yeah, I never read the last one, ha) so I have to say I like that better. And the LOTR trilogy is nine hours of people walking.
