Question Ext. HDD Problem

I had a ext. hdd (WD passport 160GB).
I was encrypting it with bit locker of win 7. But suddenly power failure occurs in between encryption.
Now, when i connect hdd and open it,it says "J:/ is not accessible. The parameter is incorrect."
And shows used and free space 0 bytes.
Is it crashed??
Any solutions please...?

You should chkdsk it and see if it recognizing it , if not and still not working to format it , you should place a bootable OS disk so you can format it from there easily and choose his option also a reset from it ( unplug and plug again could be necessary ) also dont forget before all that to backup your critical data with an online storage backup software like Dmailer http://www.dmailer.com/dmailer-backup.html .

Boot from Gparted Live CD and then check and access the external HDD; if required format it. Just be sure to double check which HDD you are formatting.
