Not only that, you get any album or movie you want, in the format you want to use, with the bitrate that you need. For example, there are versions of tv/anime series optimised for PMPs, or HD versions of movies and so on. Also, about 80% of the stuff available through piracy is not available at equal ease from online sources or offline distributors.
Not advocating piracy here, just saying that the distributors should get their act together. If only say * Music has an online catalogue of all their albums, downloadable in .ogg, .flac .mp3 encoded at 128 kb bitrate or VBR .mp3 format, when you need it, but paying only once for an album, or for every download.... however. Sort of like iTunes, but without the DRM and with more encoding options, and not tied in to a single player.

If the price of the Legal DVD is made low like 25-30Rs , no one will go for oirated ones, and I think even if they market DVDs for 25-30Rs they can still make some profit. If they keey the price of a audio CD around 99, who will go for legal ones??? That too in India no one will, when mp3's are easily available on internet at just a click.

^the pricing is not the problem. If official DVDs sell for RS. 10, the pirated ones will sell for RE. 1.
DVDs also have an advantage because of the extras... which is something lacking in the Pirated versions.
