Default PC Transport Help

I have to transport a PC from Chennai to Pune and I was wondering about the best way to do this. Should I take it with me on my flight? I am worried about the CPU being damaged since check-in baggage is handled roughly. And I am not sure I will be allowed to take the CPU as cabin baggage. Any advice would be much appreciated.
