26" will save you a lot of money over 32". If you are not picky about viewing movies in Full HD, i.e, 1920x1080, then get 26". Else, 32" is the way to go. IMHO for 5-7 feet, 32" is not needed. I am using a 26" LG on similar view distance and I like it a lot.

Last week i got 26" samsung looking at the room size but then i made a big mistake.I will need to buy 32" sony or sammy for Hd viewing.Forget even for normal SD able viewing 32" is the bare minimum. Cuz 29 Crt viewable distance is equal to 32" lcd.
So double shopping for me.Please go for min 32"

For 10' viewing distance 26" tv is sufficient, no need to invest more money. Dont think of future requirements as LCD tv rates will come to half in next 2 years

For HD viewing, 32" is a must. If not viewing 1920x1080, as OP said, then 26" is sufficient. No need to go overkill. I find LG to be a tad cheaper than Samsung or Sony as LG manufactures its own panels. Thus I recommend LG. OP may go for LG 26LH20 for 20k, which is good for TV/DVD viewing. I enjoy movies on this one. For better sound, look for LG 26" Jazz.

Exactly. For that less a viewing distance, even a 22" will suffice, although a 26" is the maximum. I use it and I am very happy with it.

Just get a 32" LG LCD TV.....fsck sony. LH60 Jazz Theatre and LH70 Scarlet 2.0 for 37k. Or LH35 for 30k. All are Full HD and surely have better specifications than the Sony one you are planning to buy.

last week i brought LG LH 20 32" LCD for 28 k ...... , and am using Videcon DTH connection but i have few concerns like

1:as i already told my viewing dist is 7-9 feet , initially i felt it is too big now am very much comfortable with size , and when am watching DVD the quality was just awesome , but using DTH for some regional channels and while watching soccer am feeling the quality is little dull , then i changed the screen size to 4:3 , then the quality seems to be better

what will be the reason behind this , is this due to poor signal from DTH or my viewing distance is less

^ Both. increase your viewing distance so that you can't figure out poor quality broadcast

Indian DTH providers broadcast in SD, no HD broadcasts out there. Maybe that is why the quality may seem dull.
