Entering a new world... ?

Hello Guys i have been useing a pretty old machine since last 4 years .. ugh i dont remember . i havent changed much of the components .

but through time i have been drooled to powerful systems so i have decided to change my whole computer setup .

now my problem is i dont know what could i do with powerful configuration. besides gaming , which i wont be doing as i choose consoles over Pc ( just because of god of war 3 ) . but still i like some pc games like Sims 2 and the upcoming Sims 3 which i dont think will require a lot of power .

but , my desicon may change as i didnt do any powerful tasks in the past ( because of pc ) which i may do with powerful pc .

i want to ask just one thing that what can a powerful computer do except gaming .

nowdays i use these apps frequently in order .

avast ,firefox , itunes , yahoo messenger , notepad , photoshop ,IE , paint , utorrent

These seem to open all on my pc .

i am building a new pc or maybe i could call it a rig , i prefer AMD/ATi so i have decided a base as AMD Phenom™ II X4 940 3.0 GHz Black Edition .

i am confused about the motherboard , motherboard budgut is 20k and should have Good Overclocking Capebilities . (+nice onbord graphic solution for few months)

Also Cooling + Power SMPS Budgut is 10k so please suggest those compatible with the motherboard .

I Will Buy ATi Radeon 4870/90 later this year when the new price will be effective in india . i want recommedation that Crossfire is better or x2 ?

All other components are easier for me to decide.

i care a lot about having more work units so i am looking for higher Flops Pc . i already keep my ps3 24x7 for this project
