Default Any Enfield bullet fan/owner out here, am planning to buy one

This has been my lifelong desire to own Enfield's Bullet! I would love to ride them on weekends. I'd love to also join a local Bullet club. I'd want to own a brand new one but due to constraints I guess for time being I may have to settle for a used bike. I can't wait any longer...

So any for our folks have any idea/input about these machines! I guess a Bullet Thunderbird will be good bike to start with...though eventually I'd like to own a Machismo 500.

I had a bullet 350 standard for ten years. I sold it and bought a Bajaj Avenger as I was finding it too heavy (getting old maybe )
It's a very reliable bike
Mileage 30 kmpl constant
beautiful sound
comfortable
Negative points - archaic technology and can make you clothes dirty
Both these have been solved in the newer bullets. My bullet haad CB point ignition whereas the new one has electronic ignition; the timing cover is just a dummy. New bullet is a pleasure to drive but just like you, I could neither afford the rising fuel costs or the cost of a new bike.

I have no much idea about 500 cc bullets

Bullet 500 owner / fan. Ill tell you one thing. If you are looking for an economic ride stay far away from Bullets. Other than that its a beautiful vehicle. The above mentioned complaints Nucleuskore mentioned is usually seen with Royal Enfields or prehistoric rides. The new ones are quite nice. Although I hope you are ok with maintaining your rides cause you will have to do alot of it.

Bullets are not bikes. Its an obsession My dad used to have one and he used to maintain it in such a way that it was one of the best looking Enfields in Kolkata !! There was an argument among the purchasers when dad decided to sell his beloved Bullet, to upgrade to a 4 wheeler White Ambassador

Go for it!! Do you have muscles and a good bulit-up? But if you are skinny/medium then look for other bikes Haddiyon ke dhanche ke liye Bullet nahiin baniii!!

A Bullet500 fan here. I'm totally obsessed with it and will be buying it after 2 years. A very good built-up isn't required for Bullet IMO. But surely it is not for the 'haddiyon k dhanche'.

...and thats exactly the reason why its difficult to find a good used Bullet.

Finally I think I have zeroed down on one machine. Its a 2005 Bullet Machismo with 350 CC 4- stroke engine. Machismo, I think, is a wonderful fusion of the Thunderbird and the standard Bullet model. Its slightly "modded" got those butterfly handles with a more "thudding" sound. Mileage is not a concern because I will use it sparingly. I am planning to "mod" it further on the lines of American Chopper -> In a way Bullet is a Linux-Bike!

It will be cool to ride once the entire work is done.
