Default Unethical Practices by yet another company --DISH TV this time

Hiya guys .... I seem to be a magnet for all the companies having pathetical customer care & trashy products n services .......

This time its Dish TV .... Once again this is my story ....I took a one year free subscription package from DISH DTH services for 4000 Rs .. The package was supposed to be a ''Maxi package'' .. the Maxi package was the premium package available and hence Included in it were most of the channels on DishTV at that time ...... Let me mention that i specifically asked for

ALL THE NEWS CHANNELS TO BE INCLUDED (CNBC & AWAAZ , NDTV & PROFIT , TIMES NOW ,CNN & BBC WORLD) ...ALSO I ASKED FOR ENGLISH MOVIE CHANNELS AND DISNEY TO BE INCLUDED, BETTER IF DISCOVERY & HISTORY WERE TO BE INCLUDED TOO ..... I didn't care for rest of the channels .....
So now this lame @ss service provider thought that Hey .. I can charge for these channels separately from these LOOSers ,,, its not like they'll complain to anyone .....

Hence the fcukheads at DishTV first withdrew CNBC from my package and then Times Now .... the only two channels i thought were worth watching ..... So I diligently called Customer Care and expained to them wat a ''Maxi Package'' is ... Apparently a new premium package was introduced and now Maxi one didn't have CNBC & times now .....
I knew that there was no point arguing over it ,,but still i explained that this package cannot be changed as per TRAI's norms .....

Miraculously CNBC was available once again ,,, but alas for three days only .... I contacted a few other subscribers and learnt that they were facing the same problems .....

a group of 75 subscribers are planning for legal action against DishTV.....wat r the legal recourses available to me considering that i am not properly a Indian citizen????

Even i faced problem, being a dish Subscriber but these dish guys have their assess covered.

They have a condition on which we have to sign while taking a connection.

it read:

Quote:
Dish TV reserves the right to add / drop a channel / package / service from any package and / or change the package rates.

^^ TRAI declares that the DTH operator cannot change the package for atleast 6 months .... Mines 7 months ....Try ur luck matey ......
DISH TV has upgraded all the maxi subscribers to platinum one w'out asking .....and is charging wat are they calling as downgrading fee to revert back to Maxi ... not confirmed but the fee is more than than 10 times the difference of the two packages ... plus they are charging administrative fees .... bloody effin a$$holes .....

@T159 ::: i have spent a major part of my life in India .... it just so happens that i was born in US and i have a american passport ..... so not actually a citizen of India ....

The downgrade fees is 40Rs. I shifted to diamond package plus 2 a-la-carte packages after 19months of having the maxi package .the platinum package was simply not worth the money. Lotsa useless channels.

Typical Indian company! What else an I say? If they do not loot your money, how can they pay SRK as their brand ambassador!

@Rakesh Mehra,
If you are really irritated, call their customer care, ask them to hand over the phone to a senior person, and then abuse as badly as you can. Since you are born in US, you may not be aware that in India, this method actually works. Most corporates have improved on what kind of clothes they wear and the kind of English they speak. BUt when it comes to core competence, they deserve kicks in their balls. Go kick them!

The legal recourse is a long route, and has low success in India.

^^ In the US i was charged for porn when i was 15 .,,, so its a worldwide problem ..... they weren't ready to accept dat i didn't order .but i made them give me a free yearly subscription for their mistake ....

Try calling Dish customer care .... they bang down the phone even if they get a hint of an argument .....

It will be a very big sign of progress when we have porn channels in India. As the cyber law is right now, Indian servers cannot even host a porn file.

Looks like the law-makers don't know how love happens, children are born, etc. They want every one of us to be "doodh peeta bacchha".

If it was not for US servers and law, we would have to depend on friends and magazines(and always find innovative places to hide them).

Don't know when will our law-makers realize that Kaamaathipura-India and Asia's largest prostitution rig is in the heart of Mumbai...and these people are bothered about innocent porn!

Porn is indefinitely better than Kaamathipura because it never spreads HIV/AIDS!

I pity that law of land is in hands of such hypocritic law-makers!

Looks like you are new to dishTV. I am a subscriber for the last 1.5 years. They remove channels whener they think without any apology or reason. And dishTV is the only DTH service in India who do not carry NEO channels. Even after hundreds and thousands of hate mails and phone calls they are not bothered to add NEO. That will tell you something about dishTV.

Tata Sky is no different. Just Stick to Cable with STB. I paid Rs. 200 as installation cost and got a STB free and subscription at Rs. 180pm for 165 channels. All are awesome and except Animax (which my sister watches) I get all the channels.

I migrated to this from Tata $ky.

Don't use these cheating loo$ers' plans. Let them become bankrupt. Using them encourages them to cheat you.
