IMO best commercial rock album of 08 == VLV
best rock album == Thrice's The Alchemy Index:Vol 3 & 4(Air and Earth)
if u don't believe me try getting The Alchemy Index Vol. 1,2,3 & 4 and then comment.
although there were other deserving candidates like pg.lost,bon iver,etc.

here i would like to tell some information regarding to best rock album of 2008.The 10 best rock albums of the year were a heady collection of breakthrough bands, artists looking for a comeback, and a guy who hadn't put out a record in 17 years. These albums covered subject on politics, lost love, suicide, second chances and rockin' on the dance floor.

Best Rock album should be Black Ice by AC/DC
