Re: Right time 2 buy\upgrade pc ???
Actually waiting for an upgrade is useless; there's always something around the corner.
For upgrading frequently, one needs deep pockets.
And talking about waiting, I have waited a whole year for upgrading, yet don't want to jump over to it.. But then again my current PC is sufficing my needs.

Re: Right time 2 buy\upgrade pc ???
Actually i was severely worthless for last 2 yrs in getting computers
in 2006 END i bought DUAL CORE with 7300GT card , then upgraded to core2Duo with 8600GT
But now i am really sick of Intel ,, i really hate they are upgrading frequently but performance is gr8 & too gr8 with their INSANELY priced processor
,, so i think i should keep this AMD phenom 9550 quad for atleast one year !!!
with in 2 years INTEL upgraded
Dual core=> core2 duo => core2quad => core2extreme => corei7 => corei7Extreme
i dont know i never used AMD before i just give it a try but they are too good from my last core2duo processor
MY REASONS FOR UPGRADING IS
1) i need fast in operating
2) games
3) severe multitasking
4) stability

You got it wrong buddy. Waiting for something that you are not sure is different.
Here, a whole new architecture is coming up and when you are going to see end of the current generation of product in a month, it's more than worthy to wait for the new gen product.
Take AMD Phenom II for example, it is said that this product will finally challenge Intel. That means price cuts from Intel for it's lineup.
And the existing line up of processors will not be stopped when Phenom II comes up. They will be available but at a lower price.
Also, look at Intel Core i7. few people waited for the Nehalem and they are happy to get this and now they have the fastest machines among digitiians.
Believe me, waiting for a month will be totally worthy. It's not just one product. Nvidia and AMD are coming out with new products. They will definitely trigger price cuts from ATI and Intel for their existing lineup (esp core2quad and HD4xxx series)

I agree with you at some places. I did not mean to say that waiting for a totally new architecture which is just round the corner is bad. But any wait long, say 2 months wont be productive IMO. You may have to rework you configuration, and you may feel like waiting a bit more. That goes on as it has for me.
When you look holistically, its just a matter of time before even the Nehalem ones will feel like sh1t. I satisfy myself that way and it's something I can do without.
Of course, they waited and now they have the fastest.. But I doubt whether the extra power is being put to any use by the ones who have it; I guess its for the sheer pleasure of benchmarking.
But was it cheap? Definitely not for a middle-class-mediocore like me. No matter what VFM a 16k proccy provides; I can get a whole rig for that kinda money.
Maybe my ideology applies to no-one but me only; but thats how I think and I shared it.

U gotta point , nice me too middle class only i bought HD 4850 for saving 3 months
Many of them are middle class only cant afford to PROCESSOR + MOBO + RAM => 40000 , thats really too high for even casual gamers .

hmm. Middle class. okay. let's say that AMD releases Phenom II in January and that it's priced at 12k for the entry model. What will happen to Phenom 9950 BE? It's current price is around 9.5k now. AMD have to reduce it's price. Now, what happens to the AMD Athlon X2's? They too will get a price cut.
In short, those who can pay a lot get even better bang for their money and those who can't pay a premium will get the stuff they want for a better price. This is what I mean to say and this is what happens when the architecture shift happens.
What was the price of P4 when it was the king and what was the price of it when core2duo came out.
Once AMD phenom II comes out, you may see E8200 for a price of 6k and entry level core2quad for 7k. It's the overall effect that is worth to consider.
Imagine the faces of those who bought 9800GTX just before the release of ATI HD4850!!
Intel always puts a hefty premium price when they move to new architecture.
AMD on the other hand straight away comes with aggressive pricing everytime they move to new architecture.
We saw it with Athlon introduction, saw it with X2 introduction, saw it with HD4xxx introduction. We will see the same again with Phenom II introduction.
After all you are not buying a tooth brush. A PC stays for 2-3 years atleast
Moreover, what would be the value if you get mobo with socket that you can't use for processors that come after few months!!!

ya u also got the POINT , gr8 , this is very much thinkable before upgrading
if phenom 2 launches , intelcore2quad like Q6600 will be priced @ 6-7K that may be pretty impressive then everyone will go for Q6600 .
yo yo ,, one thing AMD is too late in launching the 45nm processor , by this way it cant be even compared to Intel processor
Intel every prices are resonable up to core2Quad , but corei7 processor is also some what ok ,, the mobo only
DDR3 is resonable cause when DDR2 launches the price of 1GB is 9000 thats horrible , i bought that for 6300 before 2 years
X58 mobo should really be reduced in price ?!!!!!

Thats because AMD has been the underdog since time immemorable. Intel has always had a good hold in the market; even during the P4 era.

A PC stays for 2-3 years? It stays longer, or may remain for shorter, depends on you.
And regarding the Mobo example you gave; I doubt people upgrade their processors before everything else. A Mobo+Proccy would be the last thing I'd upgrade.
