Should I take a teacher's job ?
So am sitting idle at my home, just doing nothing all day. Now there is one vacancy for a temporary teacher in Chemistry for class 11 and 12.
Should I take the job ?

If you can teach, go for it. Who knows, other than a quick buck, you might find yourself enjoying it too.

Re: Should I take a teacher's job ?
Let me tell you something, No work experience in life is wasted. First of all do you like teaching? You may not have given this much thought, or simply may not know the answer yet.
Ask yourself a few questions
Do you like simplifying things for people/friends?
Do you have a knack of making hard to understand concepts easy to grasp?
If the answer to those two questions is yes, then the teacher is IN you. You might have unknowingly been helping a lot of your friends at school with subjects.
If you just want to take the post for the heck of it, or the money, forget it.

I hate organic chemistry. Find it a bit of a bore. Prefer physical chemistry any day or even inorganic is tolerable. But then, it's my opinion.

Re: Should I take a teacher's job ?
Well for one thing my Chemistry score in 12th was 95/100.
So that explains I was decent in it. Organic chemistry was my fav. Then Physical and then Inorganic (it was a bit tricky).
But I have not touched chemistry in a while, I do have given tuitions before. So lets see.

But advertising is most of the time deception. And thats where I see it wrong.
I will see if I can find something in it

Zomg.. zomg.. do some good to the students and take up the job! I dunno about your batch but at least our batch suffered without a Chem teacher. Tho I was there only till I completed my 11th, you must be knowing about the sorry state of the Chem and Maths teacher, remember?

Re: Should I take a teacher's job ?
Go to the class with lot of confidence, knowledge and patience.
and
you would come back with anger, fatigue and confusion
Seriously, Teaching is very demanding task. do it if you desire.

Re: Should I take a teacher's job ?
Teaching is a blessed profession !
"In a completely rational society, the best of us would be teachers and the rest of us would have to settle for something else."
Got it from some website.
Go ahead. Good Luck.
And what NucleusKore mentioned is 100% true.

Re: Should I take a teacher's job ?
Well, let the teacher himself speak something !
T, you will need to be good at concepts and explaining it the easier way. You thus need to have a lot of patience because not all students undertsand it the first time. You need to be creative in devising multiple examples for a same concept because different students understand better with different examples.
Voice tone, volume, mood, etc.(voice modulation/culture) may be considered if your voice is not fit for teaching or you plan to take-it up as a profession. Your voice plays a very important role in teaching. If you can't speak like a teacher, you will be trashed!
That you scored 95/100 in chem is no deciding factor if you will be a good teacher. Teaching is different from learning, memorizing. I have seen IITians being shown the door and average-scorers being welcomed!
If you are going there for pocket money, you better write your blog.
