I'm not whining, I'm rather asking. I bet none of these guys whining all over the forum at the least have taken one step towards improving any of the current conditions. Try complaining in court, ask a minister, go to consumer court, take part in a protest. But, here, they're just complaining. That will be of no value, none of this is will be reaching someone who can do something about this.

Nor do I mean, they can't argue about this here (I'd rather say complain). But, the problem is all of them are just complaining, not in a single thread but everywhere. If these practices bother you so much that you cry all over the forum about this, then why not take a simple step towards solving this. It may prove to be fruitless, but at least one can say that you tried. But, that's not the case here.

But if you go back to vedic age you will know that vedas were written by rishikas too, an appreciable number by count.

Somehow everything went downhill. Initially, Sati was voluntary and done by the women of royal lineage. Later it turned into a blanket process. Child marriage, I am not sure how you can construe it as bad as long as both the couples are of nearly same age. In South India dowry is exactly opposite to the counterpart in North India.

Yes identify proof is needed. Not sure why people are saying no. They check the e-ticket vs. your face vs. the identity. How will you enter the airport.

Just a pan card or Driving License with your Photo on it will do the job. But sometimes the ID's issued by Private Companies are not valid, specially on KF-Red.

so,the max luggage u can carry is 20Kg max in airplane...
also, I've heard that when the luggage goes for checking in some sort of scanners...it is advised to keep precious items(laptop,phones,other electron devices) to keep with u in a handbag..coz its usually removed by thieves there????

Nope. Better keep it in your carry bag. simple. They simply cannot steal anything just like that from you.

Identity proof generally means a government issued document.

Some of the common ones, but not exhaustive are:

1. PAN.
2. Driver license.
3. Passport.
4. Government of India / Central Government Employee Card. (Not Private).
5. SBI photo credit card.
6. Voter ID.
7. Nationalized bank passbook with photo.
8. Armed forces identity card.

The baggage weight varies carrier to carrier. See their website.

As a rule of thumb:
Anything which is irreplaceable carry with you in your cabin luggage. What goes in the over head compartment above your seat. Stuff like, your passport, travel document, cash, educational certificates, hotel booking papers, laptop, cameras, techie gizmos. Put clothes, shoes, other bulk items in the check in. Be very clear on this. I have seen noobs, check in cash ($$$) on the pretext that it is safer that ways. They still have the dumb mind set of trains, and how we get robbed in the railways.

Also pack your laptop/netbook (if carrying) in such a manner, that you can easily take it out when going through security scanners. The laptop/netbook HAS TO go through the scanner in a separate tray. They will make you pull it out of the bag. So better you do it before hand.

EDIT:
Make sure the laptop has charge, they might ask you to power it on. It happened to me, while flying to New York.
