this is about windows, and why its perception as unreliable might be wrong, but the chain of reasoning starts somewhere else
hmm so contrary to popular belief if you drop an iPhone on a tile, both the iphone and the tile survive, if you do with a nokia, it splits into like a gazillion little pieces that you have to find and fit together... point is basically an iPhone is one monolithic block, all other phones are jigsaw puzzles where things come on and off with layers of plastic and metal and rubber and whatnot
thing is android is so bad because of hardware (dont argue point to point, theres a bigger picture here idk rly) apple's phones are just better than all the others though all the others are the best with the tech, motorola with signals, berrys with voice, samsung with touchscreens, the list goes on... there is no single core hardware component that apple is the best at, but it brings everything together better than the rest of the industry, which is why all their devices are so reliable



Apple is owning the market with 1 or 2 devices, which others cant do with their armies of xperias and galaxies
the MacBook Air is also unmatched for pretty much the same reasons. Its just the best bit of hardware packed in so much space with so little weight ever. Maybe Intel is going door to door begging someone to make laptops as competently as Apple.

now windows... what if, all along, windows and the software repeatedly failing was just because of the thousands of hardware permutations... what if computers dont fail on just the software level, but fail totally at the hardware level, and the only way we ever come to know is because of a bad software experience
just the way the problem with android phones is not really android, all those prolems with windows computers is not really windows

the fact that everyone mumbling about iPhone is price (not me ). But i have seen iPhone, and they are comparatively good at performance, but we can't compare a 20k phone with 30k phone. If so, Android will be there for neck-to-neck competition with Apple.

Still i love Apple, for it's stunning design and uber performance. Still i never able to own one till date because of such exuberant price.

All in all, you put the point right. And why Windows always getting beaten up in forums....

Theme maybe? Windows 7 can display different colors on different themes, and different themes depending on kind of hardware configurations.
