Default NTFS or FAT32 ! ! !

i got a 500gb ka hdd ... am in2 mess abt with partition 2 do, ntfs or fat ? coz my pc guy told me fat is more safer than ntfs & hdd`s with NTFS crash more than hdd`s with FAT32 ?

Your poll is not in relation with the title. Did you know that? A radio button represents an OR logic, where the user selects either of the options, but not both. A pair of checkboxes typically represent the logic, where the user can select either of the options, and both too. Now, it might be quite obvious fo r people to point out that you cannot format a hard disk in both fat32 and ntfs. So, it might be wise decision to change your poll, or edit your title, to prevent inaccuracy and misconception of the topics discussed.

PS: go with ntfs.

@dheeraj_kumar .... i know that, u cant have 2 types ....

am not good in logics so or, &, ... mein logical locha ..... sorry abt that ....

am still waiting 4 ppl 2 make choice ...... & then will do it ......

Go with NTFS. If u r using FAT32 then u will not b able to copy files whose size is greater than 4GB.

I just watched a TV serial with a character who talks like that, and so got a bit inspired

(for the record, it was The Big Bang Theory, and the character was Dr. Sheldon Cooper)

NTFS also supports Security Options.
And since Linux Distros now have FUSE and NTFS-3G, you will not run into any compatibility issues in case you want to mount your NTFS Partitions in Linux
