Research and development in computer hardware

Hello !
I am in 11th class and want to make my career in Research and development in computer hardware.So which degree course i should do after 12th and from which college.How could i prepare for the entrance for it from now(Please do not suggest coaching or tutions for preparation).

Doing Phd will help you. but after 12th u cannot join directly.. its a long journey...

first do some degree (B.E/Btech/MCA/etc..)..

then for Phd you can apply for any IIT's or IISc

I would suggest doing B.E. in Electronics as it will help you understand computer hardware internals.

After that you can try to get placed in Intel / AMD.

buddy to get into R&D of computer hardware u have to either go in AMD or INTEL

or ATI or NVidia....
but for that u have to be like this --> & this

pick up degree in Electonics or do a graduation in VLSI technology...
u can also continue with MTECH
appear for GATE exams
& do well
