Both offers great future & ofcourse great money .It's upto you what you like or dislike, take for example If you like coding then software engineering is a good choice like .NET, JAVA, web developing and lots of development programs like symbian apps, android apps & much more and if you like hardware & networking field then you can do A+, N+, MCSE or MCITP, RHCE, CCNA & various cisco certified courses.

Just think in which one you can excel , which is better for you? Also make sure that its required by the industry.

Both offers plenty of jobs but it depends on person's ability to adapt.

One more thing is that both have great future. But you have to keep pace with the new developments in the industry, that is the main problem when it comes to IT.
