whz da scope in this field, career options, pay, which institutes in India and wht degree/courses are best?

you can lookup websites of National Institute of Design http://www.nid.edu, Industrial Design Centre IDC-IITB, for info on the M.Des. degree (there's also a bachelor's degree).

I got thru the NID Design Entrance Exam 2007 (for PG) and was called for the interview. but sadly a lot of events during that time put my career plans in jeopardy

when I was collecting info I got a lot of them from seniors thru Orkut Communities. so I suggest you also try the same

career options are scarce in India so are the seats. you need a lot of self motivation and creative quotient.
