buying today sony ericsson z550i

hi i m gona buy sony ericsson z550i today.
any idea abt the price of its data cable and memory card?

any personal reviews ?? i v read most reviews on websites.

data cable may cost u abt 300 bucks and a 512 mb m2 stick will cost abt 1750 or so..

its a good phone, but the cam quality doesn't match wid w550i. but nevertheless a decent phone. good value for money.

I bought the fone yday for 7800 INR here in navi mumbai. data cable cost me Rs.800.(original) ru talking abt the original price or the other ones?? shopkeeper told me i wud get a 6-month warranty with the data cable.
i v heard that 1GB M2 memory sticks cost arnd Rs.1500. cud you kindly confirm the price

1750 is too much for a 512 m2 stick. ****... then this fone will become a 10k + fone

SE Z550i supports Memory Stick Micro M2 card only. Currently it is the most expensive type of memory card available in the market. But as demand increases, it'll soon get cheap. Currently only a handful of phones support M2.

i think in kolkata it is available in cheap... around 1.2k for 512...

^^ Still thats not cheap. Comparatively in Mumbai you get 1gb MS Pro Duo for less than 1k!

how is d mp3 sound quality of this phone? i had w300i. i just sold it. is z550i's sound quality close to walkman?

^^ Z550i does not have the Mega Bass preset that Walkman phones have. If you leave out the Mega Bass, sound quality of Z550i is exactly equal to that of your W300i. In other words, its great.

yes the audio output is quite good. it only lacks megabass. nevertheless it sounds quite good wid hpm70 headset. and yes, i checked the m2 price. its about 1.7k now for 512mb.

800 for data cable is too much! there are two kinds available, my fren got one for about 400. but the phone won't charge thru it. there's one more availalbe which will charge ur phone. just check which one is urs. if its the later then yes, it may cost that much. not sure abt its price, tho!

btw, i too have the same z550i. and there is really no need to use a data cable because the blue tooth works great. just buy a bt dongle for Rs. 250/-

The Z550i's sound quality is the worst I've ever heard to. You should have invested 2.5k more and got a K750i, but oh well..

The camera quality too is cheap. All i liked about the phone was that its MP3 player gave good output with a SE earphone. Else, its hardly what I can call a good phone

fone is running gud till date.
i found the camera to be pretty gud. its a 1.3 MP cam n gives 1280 X 1024 resolution pics. pics are not gud in dark as in any other cam fone.
the sound quality is not the same as that in walkman series but still gud enough.
the data cable which i bought is the original one and the fone does charge whn connected to a USB output.
well we can get only this much for 7.8k ...

sry ... everyday i take snaps n put it in the PC (for transferring pics) and it gets charged .. i cannot tell u correctly abt battery .... i bet it will run for atleast 3 days with normal usage .....

i gather this comes a bit late for the iniial enquiry but I've read a few sites on this phone now and the opinion varies a bit. One place I found that was good for expert reviews and real life opinion on the Sony Ericsson z550i http://www.timtechs.com/unlocked-son...50i-prd45.html even had a few photos and the like which i found helpful.
