Smile help need to buy camera...

can anyone suggest me which camera i should buy?
anything good around 20 thousand will do.

heres some hint 'bout what i need
im not a proffesional so dont need anything comlicated.
just a camera 4 a college student who wants to click photos
of friends.
you know when going out 4 a trip or a photo of
friends singing and dancing..(key factor :movement)
another thing : the camera should be good at low light.
there are lot of cultural programs going in our college
so i want to capture them dancing and singing.since its in a hall.
it naturally is dark.so id prefer a camera which is fast and can take
good pics of objects walking or moving around.

plez dont suggest a handicam...

Sony N2. 10 MP and touch screen with 3x optical zoom A friend bought it recently and he is very happy with it.

If you want to click pics in dark, then you need a tripod or click from max 10 ft distance with flash. For the sensor to really capture the image, the shutter has to remain open for a longer time and if your hand moves even a little, the image will be blurred. Secondly, if its a moving image, you can capture them from a distance even with a tripod because even then the image will be blurred.

A tripod is not camera dependant. If you have rock steady hands, you will never need a tripod. So if a situation demands a tripod, you will have to have it, no matter which camers you use!

What I said is not applicable only to this camera, but all point & click cameras!

The tripod that I have is folding, folds to 2 ft height. When it is fully open, it goes beyond 6 ft Very handy and compact. Bought it for about 1.5K
