Desire S is discontinued, though you can find it in online shops. Also One V, Desire S's successor is there. Last gen mobiles are removed once their successor are announced or availability becomes a problem.

@SAM it shouldn't be removed so soon as it is widely available online and also it is a good option for people looking for a phone with a front cam and a FM radio which is not there in One V

Really, manufacturing is stopped? Thats bad news, i was planning on buying it.
And by the way SAM Desire S' successor is One S not One V.

production stopped doesn't mean you can't consider it. still one of the best mobile at its price range but you have to buy online. either it won't be available locally or at times they haven't updated price still selling at 22k.

Overall, Xperia P compete HTC Sensation in quadrant benchamark. And the price is almost same, but feature wise Xperia P stab HTC Sensation. So, for 20-25k category Xperia P dominate. As par the new Galaxy S III gonna release on 31st May at Delhi, so it does it having some chance to low the price of Galaxy S II to around 25k?
For 25-30k category Xperia S gonna compete with HTC One S from next month, in benchmark tests HTC One S rules, it has better SAMOLED screen and camera with its aperture 2.0/f, though it is 8MP but having only 16GB (actual around 11GB) no microSD slot.

    Benchmarks
See, HTC ONE S beating even Galaxy S III in some benchamaks.

its not made by Huawei. Looks ok but the battery is really poor. try dual sim + 3G and it won't even last 3hrs i guess.

According to HTC it has some protection. According to most sites, no. But pdadb again lists as having gorilla glass. not sure so skipped it.

You can get Desire S for16k, if you can find one somewhere online coz you won't get that in local market.
Or can have a look at the following:
    HTC Rhyme
    HTC One V
    Neo V

I am curious, why have the Spice Mi-425 & Karbonn A9 not been mentioned in the 5000-10000 segment. They seem pretty good choices for that price-point.
