From the config, the Dell one seems 2 b better...Plus Dell's build quality is good..

CAn anyone tell the difference between sound quality of the two laptops?

Also Dell Inspiron 1525 has price Rs 37500 with same processor as 1545 but 160 GB HDD but older motherboard and graphics solution X3100 but with greater connectivity options like hdmi,s-video,firewire,modem support. Also it has a 2 MP webcam and a travel rmote with is not present in Dell inspiron 1545.

since they are identical in config , go for dell ... its proven build quality and great support and service network ...

I recently booked Dell Inspiron 15 ID which is same as Inspiron 1545. I think Dell changed 1545 to 15 ID.

Well, the laptop has T6400, 250 GB HDD & 2 GB ram which is decent enough. I upgraded to Vista premium, one year insurance & a good sound card for Rs.39,249. Sounds good deal for me. The laptop is good for most of purposes except gaming, but you can change the default Intel graphic to Nvidia for better gaming performance.
