need good speakers...

i currently own an altec lancing 2.1.. (the old model.. 3 yrs back waala..) being an audio phile, i have finally decided to let go of them n buy myself new ones.. so heres the deal:
1. Good Clean bass
2.Excellent audio Quality
3. Shd be LOUD!!

these r the 3 requirements i m lookin for..

budget:2000

am really confused whether to go for altec or creative.. HELP!

u ll only get a creative sbs 370 2.1 in 1.2k...
if u can go upto 2.4 then go 4 a altec lancing atp3..

^^ hwz altec 121i - 2.1?? its 1200 bucks here.. dunno bout its quality..also since this a one time expenditure, i have notched up my budget to 2k..

You can only choose between wither audio quality OR loudness at this budget , not both .

ALtec Lansing ATP3 is best in this range

I will suggest..upgrade ur budget..and go for creative SBS 5.1

ok, if i do increase my budget, wil altec 5.1 be better than creative 5.1 or wil it be vice versa? also, i want qulity...as in, my friend had creative 2.1 and it started cracking after just 6 months of use.. i shd mention tht i constantly play songs at high volume.. so quality of the speakers is important.. i don want the speaker to die in just 6 months of heavy use...

well if you conscious about quality..than go for creative 5.2 inspire.....and a sound card (creative blaster...//price around 1k//)However I am using altech lancing speaker and it it working great.

Altec Lansing ATP3 at 2.4k is the best bang for buck....

Well it depends on what you are searching for. If you are searching for Good bass then stay away from Altec lansing ATP3 as it is better in terms of the treble. If you want a creative one then choose their INSPIRE 2.1 and NOT the SBS series. The INSPIRE series is wayyyyyy much better than the SBS. Personally i would recommend Altec Lansing 121i - 2.1
That should give the best bang for your money.
Go for a 5.1 system only if you are into watching DVD movies (not the ripped ones but the real ones) or into gaming. But if you are mostly into music then go for a 2.1 system.

I choose ATP3. With 4 high freq speakers (2 on each satellite), 2 mid range drivers (one at the bottom of each satellite), and one huge woofer, it's the best in 2k-3k range.
