MUMBAI, India - For years Nokia has been a presence in the collective consciousness of the Indian people, having helped establish India as one of the most exciting mobile technology regions on the planet. The recent emergence of sharable handsets such as the dust resistant Nokia 1208 with multiple phonebooks tailored for village life, encapsulates an approach to understanding communities and adapting technologies to adapt to suit the varying natures of communication. The Economic Times (http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/News_by_Industry/Nokia_is_Indias_Most_Trusted_Brand/articleshow/3115558.cms) has reported that Nokia has earned the most trusted brand in India:
"Following a stellar four-year run, the Finnish telecom brand has climbed 70 ranks to become India’s No 1 trusted brand, according to this year’s Most Trusted Brands survey. The survey was conducted nationwide across 12 cities, involving over 8,000 respondents across socio-economic class, age and income groups." (http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/News_by_Industry/Nokia_is_Indias_Most_Trusted_Brand/articleshow/3115558.cms) Nokia CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo responded to the news by saying: "Our team in India has worked very hard to achieve this, together with investments in marketing and distribution that have helped differentiate the brand from the competition." i don't think nokia has any good service.
Last year i took my nokia n91 to service centre which was under warrenty.
the problem was that it was giving some noise from the speaker. they kept the phone for about 1.5 month and returend back the phone back without correcting the problem
Instead they had taken off its screen cover and the whole body was strached up.
they even didn't take the blame on them selves.
I had to buy its new body for Rs.1900

I think Sony Erricson, Motorolla and Nokia all are equally trustable in India. :)
Its the other less known brands (in mobile telephony) like LG, Samsung, Apple, Huweii, etc that lack trust.

WTF n00b...First get your brains right.
2 million = 2,000,000 or in Indian system 20,00,000 (20 lakhs)
4 hundred thousand = 400,000 or in Indian system 4,00,000 (4 lakhs)

@krates- try to accept your fault and everything will be hunky dory for the both of us. You realize that when we are talking of market share, it has to be internationally, coz companies do not release local market share.

Naah, the quote from Wikipedia has been added. I ain't a fool who'll post from Uncyclopedia.
Stop this unnecessary fight please....Get your facts right.
1 million = 1,000,000 = 10,00,000 = 10 lakhs...........Can't you see the commas shifting///////
A lakh (also written lac) is a unit in the Indian numbering system equal to one hundred thousand (100,000; 10^5).
Now did you get it?
10 * 100,000 = 1 million so, 10 * 1lakh = 1million........I hope you'll be able to understand this now.

Nokia is trusted as it had marketed itself very well since the ancient days of mobile revolution in India.
I remember them selling their phones as devices with human touch as they had curves rather than bland edges like their competitors:D.
