Hello Everyone.. Finally , I'm goin for a new mobile.. As my parents r too happy wid me :D

Here are my requirements:

Sleek Design
Nice camera : Most prob 2mp
Gud Sound, wid or widout headsets
And lots n lots of features.
Compatible with most of the applications nd stuff

Budget: Rs. 7000/-

Anythng fr me in dis range... Nd yes. I'd prefer SE r Motorola ovr Nokia..

So plz help

Dude, K550i's camera sucks only if compared to K750's but compared to 6233, it is still better. + K550i has got 77MB internal memory compared to just 6MB of 6233. + it also has got Flash and AutoFocus too.

Nokia 6233 got 3G though.

If you can shell out ~1.5K more, then W810i wil be the best. It has one of the best 2mp camera (no objections in this except from Krates) and great sound quality.

my friend have got one dunno when he inserts the mem card his phone hangs

he formated the memory card again inserted works fine for a while and when files are stored in it again it starts hanging

tell him to try a diif mem card.
also is he using the latest firmware version?

Ppl said dat videos recored wid Nokia 6233 showed a pink line and then the quality of video recording is just average.. And how does the phone perform if compared to K530i .??

ok some answers to ppls question abt 6233.

@akshaykapoor_3...nope, 6233 does not have flash. video recording quality is average. but the biggest minus is that its just 20 second recording. even if u have whole 1 gb free.

@gagandeep...yeah 6233 has 3G. but name me one service provider in india that gives 3G coverage.

@ThinkFree.. well the biggest minus point of the phone. upto the extent that i somewhat hate it. is the backlighting. it turns off too quickly. its hardly 8 seconds and the backlight is fades off. no matter if ur reading a message or playing a game. the backlight will be off in abt 8-10 seconds. and there is no option to increase that time.

also after the backlight going off, in abt 30 seconds the phone comes back to life with FULL backlighting, so much so that my mom tells me that i got a call....

this is very annoying in this phone.

other than this the phone is very good. the sound output+clarity is good, as it has 2 speakers. the camera takes pictures of an acceptable quality.

it feels sturdy, has nice rubbery back which is not prone to fingerprints (except the little black portion near the cam, and also on the main screen). the phone actually looks very cheap. thats wat reviews i got when i showed it to my colleagues but even they got stunned when i told them abt the features.

even after all these flaws. this phone is a good deal @7k.

I own a k530i..
2mp cam(no flash,no af).
Sleek and looks pretty gud.
2'' screen, 256 colors.
16mb internal memory, expandable through M2.
Heard now it comes wit 512mb card free.
Gprs,3g.
Secondary video call camera.
Bluetooth, usb connectivity.
Fm.
Java apps support.
Plays lots of media formats including real audio and real video files.
Even got a fast processing speed.
And battery life is also pretty gud..

Thrz one more phone k630i which is a minor upgrade of k530i.. U could also check tat one.

dude,just simply go for sony ericsson k550i,it is widely available all over india.it has edge(till date having edge makes more sense than having 3g,coz in absence of 3g u will get only gprs speed of 30 -48 kbps,as in the case of sony ericsson k530i which has 3g but no edge),k550i has twin led flash lights,good camera(2mp, much better than nokia 2mp camera phone),autofocus,active lens cover,very slick design(though if u have large fingers using this can be a problem,though sound from external speaker isn't that loud but with even the stock earphones,it it pretty nice.so if u r looking for a complete all in one ,just go for it,it is superb value for money,iam using this one now.and try to avoid k530i because camera is not like k550i and also there is some issues regarding its back cover which is very problemetic.overall k550i rocks,just go for it.if u r a nokia fanboy u can check out nokia 3120c,has front video call camera ,3g but no flash.

if u r a nokia fanboy u can check out nokia 3120c,has front video call camera ,3g but no flash.

3120c does hav a led flash for its 2mp cam.its price is 7.2k.:)

Guyz.. 3120c offers gud features bt i dont like the rounded shape..nd 6233 isnt appealin me.

k550i keys r too small nd i gt long fingers.. hehe..

Whch has got bettr OS.. Nokia r SE ??..

Readin all ur views nd d features of a gud mobile phone I wud luv to hav dese in my cellphone:

I also Understand that I may have to loose on some features coz there wont be any mobile which can offer me all of dese in my budget ..

Nokia 6233 has 2MP camera but no lens cover or flash
For faster data transfer over GPRS network , EDGE is needed which it is having.
Connectivity:Bluetooth, Infrared, Data cable
Screen size is decent but I haven't measured it. :)
It has video calling(of no use at present), visual radio
Backlight stays on for only 10 seconds, but it won't give much trouble during playing game as you would keep on pressing keys.


3G gives you option of getting broadband like speeds on mobiles but this is not available in India at present.

SE phones have excellent music player. But as per my knowledge, the interface of Nokia is easier to understand.

^^20 seconds video is default setting. You can set it to allow the maximum possible video length depending on your memory card and the quality of your video(normal,poor or high)

that setting is there. so theres one minus point less ;)

+ theres video recording in resolution upto 640 x 480.

1. U have got answer for this.....

2. I agree ...but there is no harm in being future proof as there is a possibility of 3g next year ...

3. The backlight feature is there to maximize the battery life and its a positive point for ppl like me... and about the 30 sec thing ... it must be becoz of ur Screensaver, may be its timeout is set to 30 secs ...u can disable it from settings-->display if u want.
