OpenMoko launched its highly anticipated FreeRunner smartphone (http://arstechnica.com/reviews/os/open-moko-software.ars), a Linux-based handset that's completely open in both hardware and software (http://www.openmoko.com/product.html), and is designed to encourage third-party modification and customization. Although the FreeRunner's software platform is still incomplete, the device has attracted considerable attention from mobile software developers and Linux enthusiasts.

hey hey.....y is dat everyone blaming the design??!!......if u don't like the design u can change it, its an open source fone....suggest ur design in OpenMoko Neo community, or if ur a grfx designer put forward ur own mind blogging design.....u can change location of ports, add extra components, etc as u wish, there is no restriction if u know h/w modding.....

I would have probably bought it if it was like 12k or something! Also there is conflicting information about the processor used in the phone.
