will a compaq mv540 monitor support winxp??

There is no relation between your monitor and XP. It will work fine.

Yes. However I had refresh rate problems in RH Linux 7.x. That was a long time back. Loved the MV540 when I had it. Excellent build quality (Made in Houston, Texas), beautiful anti glare flat screen. Do you still have one of these beauts?
