Friends,

I am using an Lenovo 3000 N200 model Laptop.

Earlier my OS was Win XP SP2 it worked fine without any problem.
Later i installed Win Vista Ultimate, it's works fine when connected to AC Power,
but while on battery mode it never shutsdown and Standby.
While shutdown and standby the screen hangs and i have to long press the power key to turn off.

Please help me to solve this problem.

It may be problem with one of the devices/drivers that isn't properly
allowing Vista to shutdown or standby. try to check shutdownn after uninstalling drivers or your antivirus.

You can also try auto power shut down:

I searched for your problem again.
And find vista is a huge resource hog system.it is very heavy on laptops, many time on the battery mode.
many problems arises vista on laptops.
so microsoft releases vista service pack 1.
download it and install from www.microsoft.com
it can solve your problem.

Have you contacted Lenovo? They might have a solution. Visit service center & they'll do the needful. It's their duty.
