I have a 40 GB HDD and have 3 partitions which use all the space on the HDD and there is no free unpartitioned space on the HDD. One of the partitions has around 8GB free space on it, so I was planning to take out 5GB from it without harming the data on that partition and create a new partition. People on Digit IRC told me to use gParted and so I downloaded the gParted iso and burned it on to a CD and booted from it. Upon booting I get these options:

Which one should I select??

Also after choosing the first option I only see my HDD but not the partitions in it.

How to see the partitions???

Dont you have any OS installed? Try Ranish or Partition Magic if you are on Windows.

OK I tried Partition Magic (RS Zindabaad :D), but something is wrong. After I made the required changes to the partitions and applied the changes, the PC restarts but the changes don't take place and the partitions are as they were before.
