I want to ask that do you know of any private/govt institute in india which offers courses in video game programming, i am not looking for video game animation. I searched on few classifieds ad sites like www.clickindia.com and www.indianclassifieds.com and www.freeclassifiedsindia.com but couldn't find any institute. I also searched other forums but still to get an institute ???

The real sordid truth is None. There's no institute in India that has an official curriculum for Game Programming. I'm in my 6th sem of B.tech, I.T and also very much interested in game programming. Books on such topic aren't also available in masses. For my training after exams, though I found a company down South which provide intership in their company but nothing too promising. Only option is go to Canada or America. The DeVry University has quite a good rep. in the field concerned:cool:

I know about this, since the institution is near my place. The place is called IMAGE. There are two websites, one is IMAGE's website, and another is their college's website.

Well as I'll be finishing my B.Tech by 2009(hopefully :D) I am planning for course in Game Programming. I saw the site of both the institutes but since they are"Indian" colleges can one be assured of a job at a recognized game firm or even forget that can they match the standard or quality of the education imparted by International institutes?
Want to know that outside India which is the country/University to go for such courses?

Well this kind of assurance would be difficult for an Indian institute to provide. If we forget the animation industry, then video game programming is just in the starting phase in India. Game development companies (not referring to Java Games in mobile phones) in India can be counted on fingers.
